We kicked off our #DeliveringCherries journey at the newly redesigned Mint Room Studios with a shoot for our founders, Amanda Alvaro and Lindsay Mattick. The neutral backgrounds at Mint Room gave us a blank canvas perfect for a timeless shoot that captured the essence of what is ahead for Bonus Track. Our mood board for the shoot combined the sophistication of Pomp & Circumstance with the bright colours of Bonus Track, creating a harmonious contrast. We mixed a Bonus Track cocktail for the cherry on top to celebrate new beginnings.

For the video creation portion, we travelled across town to our second location at Album Studios. This studio gave us the ability to block out natural light; perfect for what we had envisioned. Backgrounds in Tropical Greens, Gras Pink, and Thistle Purple were created with our favourite Superior seamless paper and velvet fabric textures that gave depth to every prop on set.

The celebratory symbols continued with two cakes made by our favourite female-owned bakery, Kwento. This was predicted to be the most difficult and messiest to shoot, but was completed in just one take—that’s the plus side of a perfectly decorated cake and team that’s ready to bring things to life. The second cake turned out to be just a “bonus”.

The most extra of them all was the disco ball prop that lit the studio up in sparkles and light-it gave everything it needed to give but perfection. It took us 12 takes to get the final shot; who knew that rolling a disco ball would be so time-consuming?! Safe to say you won’t catch the Bonus Track team at a bowling alley anytime soon. We called it a wrap with a shot of a Bonus Track record that spun to the tune of ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!”, the perfect outro to a successful day at the Bonus Track office.
